kitchen knife sets

Having good kitchen knife sets are essential when you’re compiling your cookware and its accessories.  Taking care of your knives is easy, but without care, they will need to be replaced sooner than they should.  Here are a few tips to help you get lasting service from your knife:• Keep your knife dry -the entire knife, not just the blade.

• Keep your knife clean, particularly moving parts and locking device.
• Keep your knife oiled; especially pivot points and the blade.
• Keep your knife sharp. A sharp blade is safer than a dull one.
• Do not attempt self-repair.

eggplant

There are some great dishes that you can cook up with your stainless steel cookware set.  This recipe for eggplant patties is a vegetarian (though not vegan) favorite.  Has some fun with it!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup eggplant, diced & cooked until tender
3/4 cup cooked rice
1 egg
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch black pepper
dash red pepper sauce
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/2 cup sharp or mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

PREPARATION:
Drain and measure 1 cup of the cooked eggplant into a bowl. Mix with remaining ingredients. Cover and chill thoroughly. Heat vegetable oil in a stainless steel pan over medium heat; drop mixture by tablespoonfuls and fry until nicely browned on both sides.

Serve immediately as a side dish with sliced tomatoes or salsa.  Serves 6.

Don’t Get those Breakable Plates

stoneware dishes

One of the mistakes that I made when I first moved out of my parents home was I bought a set of cheap dishes from a thrift store.  It’s not the fact that I purchased used plates to eat off of as much as how breakable they were.  Something as simple as a bowl coming down on it in the sink and the plates would shatter.

Over the years, I learned that stoneware dishes were the way to go.  Not only is stoneware not as breakable, but they are easy to clean and – for the most part – microwaveable.  Don’t live with the mistake that I did: get stoneware.

Crazy for Stir Crazy

Stir Crazy MugThese self stirring mugs are the best small kitchen appliances I’ve seen in a long time, and with this many to a case it’s great for institutions and consumers alike.  With twenty five percent savings on an already low price the deal just gets sweeter.  I know around my house there’s no more hunting for stirring utensils or sticks.  I once even used a clothespin!

They’re easy to clean since they’re dishwasher safe, and the minimal drain on the batteries even helps the batteries to last longer than you might otherwise expect.  Thanks again for a neat little gadget that everyone gets to enjoy.

SWAT BootsLuxury Bargain House is about a lot more than dinnerware sets.  If you’re anything like me then you can be pretty hard on your shoes.  Whether it’s steel toe boots, sneakers or even leather boots, my dady to day takes me through a litany of rigors and challenges.  Most times even the most expensive boots will be the shortest lived, as they are rarely designed to work as well as they look.

When I found these durable boots for less than sixty bucks I ordered three pairs.  Let me tell you why.  I know that at a price like this these boots aren’t going to be around for long.  My biggest concern is needing a pair like this and getting styuck paying over a hundred bucks for it.  As far as versatility and durability are concerned these are some of the best shoes I’ve ever owned.

14 inch Pillow Top Memory Foam MattressStep 1:
Modern Style: The first thing you need to do is find a base piece, like this 14 inch Pillow Top Memory Foam Mattress to build your room around. This piece of furnishing can be anything like a lamp, picture, table or sofa as long as the piece speaks to you! This piece should be the first thing a person sees when they enter your room. Use this one great piece to build your color scheme and structural elements from. If the main color of this piece is what you want to focus on build everything you add to this room around that color. If the structural element is brass, keep the room in different tones of brass. Get a color wheel and pick the color opposite your base piece to accent your room. Once you have the color scheme and structural elements you are looking for then you begin to shop.
